LOS ANGELES (AP) — California regulators approved a debatable proposal Thursday to dramatically increase garage capacity at the site of the nation's largest known methane leak that sickened thousands of families and forced them from their Los Angeles homes in 2015. Despite opposition from lawmakers and neighboring residents, the California Public Utilities Commission voted 5-0 to allow underground storage of up to 68. 6 billion cubic feet of fuel in the vast Aliso Canyon box on the northern edge.
